The group of experts that develops ISO 14001, the world’s most recognized framework for environmental management systems, has been awarded the Lawrence D. Eicher Award for excellence in technical work.
The distinction, which recognizes the significant contribution of an ISO technical committee or subcommittee to the development of International Standards, was presented at the 39th ISO General Assembly, running this week in Beijing, China.
Eurocert as Independent third-party validation and verification plays a vital role in upholding the integrity and quality of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions and removals achieved by VER program. Validation/verification bodies (VVBs) have three main roles under the VER program: to validate projects, verify GHG emission reductions and removals, and assess methodology elements under the methodology approval process.
Users of the ISO 14001 environmental management system (EMS) standard are being encouraged to provide input through an online survey to the experts developing the next edition of the standard, which is expected to be published in 2015.
